DJ Khaled’s “Grateful” Remains atop Billboard Charts, despite Jay-Z’s first week Success

DJ Khaled’s 10th studio LP, Grateful, has landed atop the Billboard Top 200 chart for the second week in a row for the week ending July 6. Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. holds the third spot – also for the second week in a row, with 2 Chainz and Drake holding on in the Top 10 and with the Migos and Future enjoying a slight bump in sales. Vince Staples’ Big Fish Theory had a strong debut last week at #16 but took a mighty plunge to #67 in its second week on the Top 200 and TDE songstress SZA saw an 11 percent dip in sales for her CTRL album.

JAY-Z’s 4:44, which has dominated the conversation ever since its release, is noticeably absent despite going platinum. Hov’s new LP is missing from the chart because Tidal did not report any of its streaming numbers to Nielsen Music. The situation mirrors Kanye West’s 2016 album The Life of Pablo, which also did not chart in its first week due to Tidal’s refusal to report its streams.
